HLA testing is most useful if a person experiences significant doubt about whether or not they are gluten sensitive. This can include positive test results for gluten antibodies, negative results for gluten antibodies, and the presence of associated diseases such as microscopic colitis (which may mask the expected improvement of symptoms when gluten is withdrawn from the diet).
